Partners for Education Agriculture & Sustainability (PEAS)
Cultivating joyful connections
PEAS (Partners for Education, Agriculture and Sustainability) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Austin, TX with the mission to cultivate joyful connections with the natural world through outdoor learning and edible education. Founded in 2011 as a community farm and formally established as a nonprofit in 2015, PEAS delivers unique outdoor learning and edible education programs to participating school campuses, operates and maintains a community farm, runs camps, and offers consultation services along with professional development to help teachers bridge key academic concepts and social emotional learning from the garden to the classroom.
Delivering programming year-round, PEAS provides trained outdoor and edible education specialists who partner directly with classroom teachers at each school’s campus to lead outdoor and kitchen lessons, enhancing students’ time spent learning in a hands-on environment. Currently, PEAS collaborates with 32 schools in the Austin area, engaging more than 5,000 students in outdoor learning and edible education.
